Meet the Team.​

Sammy Davies

Rev. Sammy Davies has been a member of Ammanford Evangelical Church
since the early 00’s, first attending one of our many youth clubs.

Since then he’s earned a Masters in Physics, an MA Theology, married
Charlotte and now pastors the church.

Sammy brings a range of administrative and digital skills to the
Board, alongside the wisdom he has gained through pastoring a lively
church in a Valleys ex-industrial town that serves a wider rural and
mountainous hinterland.

Abbie Parry

Abbie Parry is the newest member of our Board.

Abbie is a communications professional who grew up in The Bay Church
in Cardiff and then Grangetown Baptist in the same city.
Since graduating Abbie lives and works in London and joined the team January 2024.

Abbie brings a range of organisational and digital skills that we need
to take our mission forward in this digital era and we are absolutely delighted to have her on board.

Ian Parry

Rev. Ian Parry is married to Liz and
they have four children.

In the past he has pastored Mount Elim Evangelical Church in rural
Pontardawe (1995-2003) and The Bay Church in Cardiff (2003-2016). He
was also, for a short while, Director of the European Mission Fellowship.

Since April 2018, Ian has been the Pastor of Grangetown Baptist Church
in Cardiff revitalising an inner urban church in a strategic location.

Kendal Smith

Kendal Smith serves the NHS as Head of Financial Flows at Cwm Taf Local Health Board.

 

Kendal brings very welcome expertise arising from his extensive financial and administrative acumen and experience to our Board.

Jonathan Stephen

Rev. Jonathan Stephen is the former Pastor of Carey Baptist Church in
Reading and has served as the President of the FIEC, the Director
Affinity (an organisation promoting partnership between Bible-Centred
churches) and retired as the Principal of Wales Evangelical School of
Theology (WEST) steering its transition to becoming Union School of
Theology

Simon Bowkett

Rev. Simon Bowkett is the Executive Director of y GRWP and serves rural Wales as a rural chaplain with y GRWP.

​

Simon has been pioneering and revitalising churches since 1985, raises beef and sheep on the family hill farm in North East Carmarthenshire and is married with four grown-up children.
